Zinc Sulfide Multi-Spectral Grade
Zinc sulfide is used as an infrared optical material, transmitting from visible wavelengths to just over 12 µm. Low Absorption and Low Scatter from 0.4 – 12μm
It can be used planar as an optical window or shaped into a lens.
Available uncoated.
Zinc Sulfide multispectral grade windows are manufactured from a water-clear, multi-spectral grade of zinc sulfide that has low absorption and scatters properties over its broad transmission range of 0.4 – 12μm.
Zinc Sulfide is a chemical vapor deposited material which is commonly used in thermal imaging.
This material when hot isostatically pressed (HIPed) can be converted to a water-clear form known as the multispectral grade.
With its excellent transmission properties in the visible and infrared, is the material of choice for systems that have both visible and mid-wave or long-wave infrared sensors.
